The Meaning of Life in the Road Drawing Test of Patients with Alcohol Use Disorder

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to find out whether the Road Drawing Test can be used as a test tool to grasp the meaning of the life of an alcohol use disorder through the response characteristics of the road picture according to the meaning of the life of the patient with alcohol use disorder. The subjects of this study were 129 people in hospitals specialized in alcohol treatment in the metropolitan area. As a research tool, Road Drawing Test and a measure of meaning in life were used, and cross-analysis was performed for data analysis. The results of the study are as follows: First, the response characteristics of the picture indicators of the Road Drawing Test according to the meaning of life of patients with alcohol use showed significant differences in the number of colors used, detailed description, overall mood, state of the road, slope of the road, and direction of the road. Second, the response characteristics of the PDI indicators of the Road Drawing Test according to the meaning of life showed significant differences in the picture title, the time in the picture, the season in the picture, the feeling of the road, and the direction of the road. Through these research results, it was confirmed that the Road Drawing Test could be used as a test tool to grasp the meaning of life of patients with alcohol use disorder.
